Regional psychiatrist for the Kimberley Mental Health and Drug Service Dr Huu Duy Tran said a facility that could meet Mr Chi’s significant needs in physical, mental, spiritual and cultural health, did not exist in the state. "There is no supported accommodation in Broome or the Kimberley for people in similar circumstances to Mr Chi … whose needs are medical, mental, and spiritual and culture," he said under questioning.
