Health care products companies and private equity firms are being lined up to take a look at New Zealand and Australia-focused medical devices business Obex Medical. Street Talk understands Obex’s owners, which include mid-market private equity firm The Growth Fund, have kicked off a review of the business with the help of dealmakers at PwC. Up-for-sale Obex supplies medical professionals with implantable devices that are used on patients in operating procedures and surgeries. The review is expected to consider exit options, including the sale to another private equity firm or larger trade player. It is understood PwC has been reaching out to potential buyers in recent weeks, introducing the company and preparing them for an auction expected to commence shortly.
