Older Australians left hanging Thousands of older Australians will have to wait up to 12 months to receive safe and quality aged care, as the present government suggests, says the Consumers Health Forum (CHF). “There is no question that our aged care system requires urgent attention,” says CHF chief Leanne Wells. The CHF is releasing a submission to the Royal Commission on Safety and Quality in Aged Care, based on recommendations from carers, family members and aged care staff. The survey from which the submission is based revealed that a third of respondents said they did not feel confident that care was safe and right for the person involved.
